I logged on MSN for the first time in months yesterday, and I was overwhelmed. I knew an AryaVarwin topic occasionally popped up on GZF or whatever, but there's just a very overpowering feeling when you get about 40+ messages within a matter of two minutes. I had to change my name to let people know that I was NOT coming back to GunZ, which is what people seemed to be curious of. People never forget.
Amongst interesting conversations was one I had with a GZF forum mod. I wanted him to confirm, or at least admit, what I knew all along, and had a deal of success in it. For one, this GZF mod admitted to me that there was NO real reason I was banned from GZF. There was a reason, but it was not for breaking any rules.
The unprofessionalism of GZF truly does astound me. Citizen tells his mods "I don't want this to seem like a job. I want everyone to just have fun with it." is a complete joke. Do you realize the criticism the police would take if their officers were told "JUST GET OUT THERE AND HAVE FUN GUYS"? Now I know that GZF mods are not cops, but in a sense, they are. As moderators, they are basically forum police. Their job is to enforce the rules. Simple as that.
mod·er·a·tor (mŏd'ə-rā'tər) Pronunciation Key n.
One that moderates, as:
One that arbitrates or mediates.
One who presides over a meeting, forum, or debate.
Now anyone in a mediation power, be it a judge, a cop, or something as simple as the overseer of an internet forum, there is one crime that is the worst. And that is favoritism. When you are mediating, or arbitrating, one should remain dead in the center, and favor the one in the right. If you side with one person for any other reason, you are showing favoritism, and you are no longer an overseer. You are a dictator.
This same GZF mod has admitted to me "Well it was either we ban you and piss off you + your supporters or ban the people flaming you and piss them off, so Citizen decided to ban you" Instead of trying to resolve issues in a professional and unbiased manner, they simply took the easy road and banned Arya.
Honestly, getting banned isn't the real reason. I can proxy or VPN a connection anytime, remake a different alias, and be back on GZF. If I wanted to be a real pain in the ass, I could simply write up a script for generating forum usernames and switching proxies with ease and have an "AryaVarwin2" etc. etc. thing going. Banned? Just hit a button, fill in a username/PW, and keep on going. The powerplay itself in banning AryaVarwin isn't why i'm against GZF.
It's the corruption. It's the fact that I think that only myself, one of the GZF mods who's loyal to me over Citizen, and a few others know truly how corrupt the site is. Others can see it, but only a few know the extent of things. Even MAIET is beginning to abandon GZF and the community, which does me a lot of good. Sure, we hate GZF, but the fact that a site with such bias and a staff that's no better then trained monkeys is sanctioned by MAIET and used practically as an official forum? That's what gets me.
In the end, the mod suggested that I take some time to reflect on myself, let go of the past, and forget about the whole thing. Simply make a new alias on GZF, start a new legacy, and go through with my plans without causing GZF any more strife.
But honestly, do you think they deserve to be let off the hook that easy?

Corruption can't be forgiven.
You could make a new name, but what would it do? no one learns, no one realizes what the consequences of their actions are.
They can't ignore issues like these. Eventually they must face it or they will be destroyed.
Not by outside forces, of course. As I said earlier, corruption will make them collapse. MAIET is starting to move away from them, which could mark the beginning of the fall for GFZ.
Of course, GFZ will have it's loyal fanboys/girls standing by it till the end, but they make no difference. They owe up to their mistakes, or they die out from their own foundation crumbling on them.
Besides, MAIET needs to grow some balls and make their OWN forum. Hell, use a free one if you are a poor company with no hope of releasing your game to mainstream consumers.
And to all those spamming miss Varwin to come back to gunz. She's on WoW. WoW sucks your soul away.
It's not likely to happen from experience. :P
That's all from me.
